In the mid-2000's, North Park Church (in Wexford) began considering the potential of a church plant in a college town somewhere in Western PA. After much prayer and discernment, they were led to plant a church in Slippery Rock, PA, led by Bob and Debbie Stauffer. Our first service was on September 9, 2007.
We have followed God's leading through many key milestones: the annual graduations of the students who've been part of our community, the transition from the old University Union to our current location in the Smith Student Center, the wonderful ministry of Bob and Deb, and the welcome of the many families that make up our church.
From the beginning, we have continued to follow God's call to a servant community in Slippery Rock. Historically, we have three outreach areas in which we seek to serve: the school system, the universities, and those in the area that need a hand. We are grateful that God has continued to provide us an avalanche of opportunity in this region, and we pray that God would continue his leadership of our congregation as we love our neighbors in his name.
